Before we can truly relate effectively with others, we need to acknowledge One Big Thing: that aside from a bigger brain, walking upright and wearing clothes, human beings are not all that different from lower animals when it comes to behavior. There are only three Kingdoms in the natural world after all: Animal, Vegetable and Mineral. Unless you’re a vegetable or a mineral, face it – you’re an Animal! Granted, a more highly developed, intelligent and capable sort of animal, but an animal, nonetheless. Much, if not most of our human behavior is reflexive, driven by raw, knee-jerk instincts before our brain and ability to reason ever kick in.
Human beings need a dose of humility. Let’s get over our puffed-up sense of superiority and unrealistic personal expectations. Let’s be nicer to ourselves and quit beating ourselves up when our behavior is less than ideal. And let’s all be nicer to each other and stop expecting people to be more than they are or can be. Help them instead.
Animals look at humans as just other animals. It’s time we knew what they know. Speaking from my own experience, with this new perspective, you’ll never look at our world the same way again. Embrace Animal Secret #1. Learn all 7 Secrets by following me on Instagram,
